The Security Guard license issued by CLEET is a two-year, renewable license. Applicants wanting to apply for a Security Guard license must first complete the necessary training, submit an application for a license, and undergo a finger print background check. Below are the items you will need to complete a new application.
• Application with attachments completed and signature notarized.
•Certified court Judgment and Sentence or letter of no record for each arrest and/or charge, if applicable. (All questions on page 2 must be answered)
•Legible CLEET fingerprint cards with all required data
•Two current passport size color photographs or three if applying for an armed license. Paper or plastic photos are NOT acceptable.
•Local Police Department and Sheriff Department Record Checks
•Letter of Employment (if applicable) or Bond/Insurance
•Agency Application (Required if self-employed Private Investigator)
•Documented proof of experience or comparable training.
•Payment amount required. DO NOT MAIL CASH. NO PERSONAL CHECKS. (Money Order, Company Check or Cashier's Check only).
•Affidavit of Lawful Presence
•If not a United States Citizen, verifiable documentation of legal residence

Testing Dates
ATTENTION
CLEET online Private Security licensee testing is now available at 44 different Career Tech locations across Oklahoma. Please check with your local Career Tech, or visit http://www.okcareertech.org/main/map/map.htm to view the complete list. The fee for the online test will be $25.00. Applicants will receive test scores immediately.
PLEASE NOTE: Effective July 30, 2011. CLEET will no longer offer testing in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. CLEET will offer the test on the dates listed below at the CLEET facility located in Ada, OK. If you wish to come to CLEET for the exam, please contact Jim Burton at405-239-5143. Space is limited.

License Renewals
The Security Guard license issued by CLEET is a three year, renewable license. The license expires three years from the date it was issued. To renew a license, the holder must provide proof of continuing education, proof of bond and/or insurance, where applicable, and submit a renewal application, if applicable.
Licenses that are expired for two or more years are not eligible for renewal and must reapply for a new license.

License Upgrades
The Security Guard license issued by CLEET is a three year, renewable license. Licenses may be upgraded to an Armed license, or to a combination license - Security Guard/Private Investigator. Once you have a license, that license may be upgraded, depending on the license.
Upgrades may be made from:
Unarmed Security Guard to Armed Security Guard ($50)
Unarmed Security Guard, adding Unarmed Private Investigator ($50)
(Note: This is actually two separate licenses, and two separate license numbers)
Armed Security Guard Armed, adding Armed Private Investigator ($100)
(Note: This is actually two separate licenses, and two separate license numbers)
Armed Security Guard Armed to Combination License ($50) - One license, one number
Information and forms necessary for completing an application for upgraded Security Guard, Armed and Unarmed, License.
Prerequisite: Must posses a current, valid Security Guard license to perform an upgrade.
Two recent color passport sized photos (same as initial application and renewals)
Phase IV Training/Testing (Only required for Armed upgrade options)
MMPI (Only required for Armed upgrade options)
