In order to acquire an armed security guard license in the state of Georgia, they like most other states have certain requirements that must be met prior to being licensed in their state. One of these requirements is that the person applying needs to be at least 18 years of age. The applicant must have either a high school diploma or have taken their equivalency examination. The license for the security guard in Georgia is separate from the firearms license. The guidelines for the armed security guard are covered in the Security Guard Act of 1992 and the amendments that have been attached. This type of employment is one that appeals to person that has gotten out of the military. The other qualifications that will need to be complied with are:

•A criminal background check
•Submitting fingerprints
•Certified training completed
•Valid photo identification will be submitted

The state of Georgia requires that the person applying for an armed security guard license has training provided by a state recognized training center. This training will provide the needed education for the armed security guard to properly perform their duties. There is a requirement for the person that is going to apply in Georgia as an armed security guard to take firearms training. This will teach the person, in instructional classes the legal issues when carrying a weapon. The person that applies for an armed security guard license in the state of Georgia will receive their permanent license that will be valid for two years from the date of issue. The firearms license will be valid two years from the date of issue, the person holding the license will need a training course every 12 months to comply with state laws.
